Vigil
A Discord bot that watches YouTube channels and Twitch streamers and posts to your channel when something happens. It is built around one problem: notification bots stop firing and nobody finds out for weeks.
Not open yet
Vigil is still being built and is not available to add to a server. These pages are here because the terms and the privacy policy have to exist before it can be.
What is free
Every notification is free. Every filter is free. Role pings are free. Nothing is ever locked behind voting for the bot somewhere. Paying raises how many sources one server can watch from 3 to 25, and adds custom message templates and more than one destination channel per source. That is the whole pricing page and it is here on purpose rather than buried.
How it is meant to not break
Vigil takes pushes from YouTube and Twitch directly, and separately polls every
source it watches on a timer. If the poller ever finds something the push should have
delivered, it delivers it and tells you the push is broken. /status shows,
per subscription, when it last delivered and when its push subscription next renews.
You should not have to guess whether your alerts are still alive.
Privacy
No privileged intents. Vigil cannot read your messages, and there is no user table in its database. Nothing is stored about individual members. The privacy policy lists what is stored, column by column.
